My cousin Betsy and her husband Pete are visiting some friends in NC and then they go to Decatur, GA for their grandsons christening. After that, it's home to Florida and Betsy begins her retirement after being a High School Guidance Counselor for 30 years.
They are going on an Alaskan Cruise in August and then in October visiting Australia and New Zealand for three weeks.
We had all of the family for a big pool party and homemade lasagna dinner on Sunday night.
Yesterday, Betsy and I met Noelle for lunch because she had to work on Sunday. Betsy and I shopped in the afternoon and she got to go to Hobby Lobby. Now she's hooked on it but they don't have them in Florida.
Last night Mr. Bird Nest had to work late but I took them to a great restaurant we have here called Chophouse '47.
We had such a great visit but our time together was just too short.
When I was in high school I used to go to Betsy's house in Florida for a month or two in the summer. Her mother (my Aunt Ruth) was a nurse, who worked nights and she used to take us to the beach early in the morning at like 9:00 a.m. and pick us up after she slept at about 5:00 p.m. Oh, the fun we had!
Thanks for reading,
Gretchen

I can tell by the look on your faces how much fun you had! I'm so glad you got to experience this, even though it was far too short a visit.
