Pool Plantings...

 

Every year I try to add a few plantings around our pool.  Since it's an above ground pool it's kind of hard to plant around. 

 

Nicholas and I have some weeding to do.

New Shed Door...

 

I never really liked the way the shed door looked.  It just didn't have that barn look.

 

Last weekend Mr. Bird Nest built a new door and added the X I thought it needed.

Happy 37th Birthday Chris...

 

Chris is spending a perfect birthday with his family.  I took time to drop off a gift and they were getting the battery charged on Carson's vehicle.  Lauren could barely wait to take off.

 

Chris was such a sweet little guy when he was growing up and his children are just as sweet as he was.

Thank you Brenda...

 

I'm trying to get back on track with my blog.  I'm walking with a cane and probably get rid of that in a couple of weeks.  The doctor couldn't believe my progress and I'm going back on Remicaid Monday. 

First and foremost today I want to thank Brenda of http://viewfromthepines.wordpress.com/ for the sweet chicks she sent me for Easter.  She is such a great friend and she seemed to know just when I needed a pick-me-up. 

  

I think the chicks look perfect tucked in the Candytuft.

What kept Mr. Bird Nest busy...

 

This is what Mr. Bird Nest did the week he took care of me at home.  Not to worry, he wore his cell phone and was only a phone call away when I needed a snack or a drink.  He's still not done but he is getting closer.

My good friend Dawn from the http://gahangirls.blogspot.com surprised me with this package early this week.  Look at the little tiny tea cup she found for me.  I think it's a little too special for the tea parties with the grandchildren.  I will treasure it forever. 

My blogging friend Sharon from Lexington, SC sent me this surprise package.  I think she hit on everything I love.  Tea, cookies, mysteries and crosswords.  Sharon I can't wait for us to actually meet, when I can drive again.

I have received so many blessings and prayers over the past 2 weeks, I knew it was bound to end soon.

  Tuesday, I heard from my employer that I was being laid off, effective that day.  I knew they were having cutbacks but I thought they would at least give me time until I had recovered from my surgery.  It will be a couple of months until I can walk in and sign up for unemployment.  Now don't feel too sorry for me.  I got a 3 month severence and I was planning to retire next March. 

Now I can do what I wanted to this Summer.  I'm going to babysit Chloe and Nicholas two days a week while Rick and Noelle work.

I'm back...

  

 

Chloe came running into the TV room yelling "The birdies are here, the birdies are here".

Noelle had lifted Chloe up to the door and sure enough the new birds are here.  Now in case any of you questioned whether I was well enough to take the picture, the answer is no.  Thankfully Noelle did that.

These were my giant cards from 3 of our grandchildren.

Sue from Florida wanted a picture of me in my Ralph Lauren jammies.  This photo just proves Ralph makes some things that not everyone looks good in.
